The Daily Nole — Oct. 5, 2021: FSU’s Briggs Out for Season

Florida State athletics

It’s Tuesday, Florida State fans.

As your week nears a midway point, check out our daily rundown.

Lead Story

Florida State football has decent depth on its defensive line. The bad news however, is that depth did take a bit of a hit.

According to head coach Mike Norvell, defensive tackle Dennis Briggs is out for the remainder of the season with an injury suffered on Sept. 25 against Louisville. Briggs had been solid in four games, tallying six tackles and 0.5 for loss.

With the loss, FSU will likely rely heavily on Fabien Lovett and Robert Cooper in the middle of the defensive front. Malcolm Ray and Jarrett Jackson will likely see additional reps.

Between the Lines

FSU men’s and women’s golf each went 2-0 in match play on Monday to begin the Barbara Nicklaus Cup in Ohio.

On the Agenda
