As you start thinking about the weekend, check out our daily rundown.

Lead Story

Florida State soccer’s Emily Madril is making a strong case for ACC Defensive Player of the Year.

For the second time this season, the redshirt senior was named ACC Co-Defensive Player of the Week. She shared the honor this week with Virginia Tech sophomore goalkeeper Alia Skinner. Madril played a key role in shutout victories over Pittsburgh and Louisville.

Off back-to-back ACL tears, Madril has had a spectacular season. On top of playing outstanding defense, she has two goals and one assist this season.
