The Daily Nole — Oct. 2, 2021: Krikorian Gets 300th Win as FSU Soccer Tops Clemson, 4-1

Lead Story

Florida State head soccer coach Mark Krikorian made history on Friday night. The FSU head man earned his 300th career victory as the top-ranked Seminoles took down Clemson on the road, 4-1.

The Tigers actually struck first on an FSU miscue as an own goal made it 1-0 in the third minute. It took FSU a little over 20 minutes to go ahead for good. Kirsten Pavlisko and Jenna Nighswonger found the net to give the Seminoles the halftime lead.

In the second half, Beata Olsson put the match away with two goals in a 64-second stretch. Olsson leads FSU with eight goals for the year. She also added an assist in the victory. Jody Brown had two assists for the Seminoles while Kristina Lynch, Yujie Zhao and Gabby Carle had one.

With the win, Krikorian not only hit a milestone, but FSU remained perfect. The Seminoles are 11-0 for the year. They’ll host Syracuse on Thursday.

Between the Lines

In addition to FSU’s soccer victory, FSU volleyball took down NC State on Friday night, 3-1. FSU cross country took part in the Notre Dame Invite. The men finished fourth while the women finished seventh. Individually, Adriaan Wildschutt notched his third win of the year for the Seminoles on the men’s side.

On the Agenda

FSU football will host Syracuse on Saturday. The contest begins at 3:30 p.m. ET and airs on ACC Network.
