Florida State men’s golf kicked off its 2021-22 season in Illinois. The first tournament of the season however, did not go as planned for the Seminoles.

Over the 3-day Fighting Illini Invitational that ended on Sunday, FSU finished just 13th out of 15 teams. FSU was in ninth place through the first day, but fell to 13th on the second and never really moved from there.

The top performer for FSU was Frederik Kjettrup, who finished tied for 20th at +4. North Carolina took the team and individual title for the tournament. Austin Greaser claimed the victory by shooting -4.

Between the Lines

The Fighting Illini Invitational was the lone scheduled FSU athletic event for Sunday.

On the Agenda

There are no FSU athletic events scheduled for Monday.

News and Notes

FSU football opens as a 1-point underdog for Saturday’s home contest against Louisville.
