The Daily Nole — June 24, 2021: FSU Track and Field Racks Up ACC Individual Honors

Lead Story

Unsurprisingly, an outstanding season for Florida State track and field has culminated in individual honors.

FSU’s Bob Braman has been named ACC Men’s Outdoor Coach of the Year while Isaac Grimes took home ACC Men’s Outdoor Field Performer of the Year. On the women’s side, Ruta Lasmane earned Women’s ACC Freshman of the Year.

Braman coached FSU to an ACC outdoor title and a 10th-place finish at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Grimes was the ACC outdoor champion in the long jump and finished second in that event at the NCAA Championships. Lasmane took the ACC indoor and outdoor titles in the triple jump.

FSU soccer’s Gabby Carle will represent Canada in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.

Richard McCullough was unanimously confirmed as Florida State University president by Florida’s Board of Governors on Wednesday.
