The Daily Nole — April 29, 2021: FSU Adds 4-Star QB Duffy

Lead Story

Time will tell, but the future at the quarterback position for Florida State is starting to look very bright.

On Wednesday, 4-star AJ Duffy pledged his services to the Seminoles. A 6-foot-2, 203-pound quarterback from IMG Academy, Duffy gives the Seminoles eight total commitments from 2022 and two quarterbacks. Nicco Marchiol, also a 4-star prospect, committed to the Seminoles on Jan. 31.

Duffy is ranked as the No. 76 overall prospect for 2022 and the No. 6 pro-style quarterback, according to the 247Sports Composite. With the addition, FSU now owns the top class in the ACC and the No. 10 overall class, per the Composite.

Between the Lines

There were no FSU athletic events scheduled for Wednesday.

On the Agenda

FSU track and field will begin the UNF Invitational on Thursday.

News and Notes

FSU women’s golf will be in Louisville for the NCAA Regional, beginning on May 10.

FSU volleyball middle blockers Taryn Knuth and Emma Clothier were named honorable mention All-Americans by Volleyball Magazine.

French men’s tennis standout Antoine Cornut-Chauvinc has committed to FSU.

Doak Campbell Stadium will keep its name following a vote from FSU’s anti-racism task force.
