The Daily Nole — April 30, 2021: FSU’s Wallin Named ACC Women’s Golfer of the Year

Lead Story

A memorable season for Florida State women’s golf has culminated in some individual honors.

On Thursday, Beatrice Wallin was named ACC Women’s Golfer of the Year. Wallin leads the ACC in stroke average with a program-record 70.3 per round. Wallin has two wins this season and finished under par in five of six tournaments.

She ultimately made the All-ACC team, but was not alone. The highest ranked freshman in the conference by Golfweek, Charlotte Heath also appeared on the All-ACC team.

Wallin is the second FSU player in three years to earn ACC Player of the Year, joining Frida Kinhult who accomplished the feat in 2019. The Seminoles will be in Louisville for the NCAA Regional on May 10.

Between the Lines

FSU track and field began the UNF Invitational on Thursday.

On the Agenda

FSU track and field will continue the UNF Invitational on Friday. FSU softball and baseball will both be at home on Friday. On the baseball diamond, the Seminoles host Troy. FSU softball will host NC State. Both contests begin at 6 p.m. ET and stream on ACC Network Extra.

FSU men’s tennis’ Loris Pourroy was named second-team All-ACC.

FSU women’s tennis’ Giulia Pairone was named first-team All-ACC on Thursday. Emmanuelle Salas was named to the conference’s third team.
