South Carolina athletics

Saturday was a big day for Florida State as the Seminoles landed a pair of Power 5 transfers.

South Carolina defensive lineman Keir Thomas and Auburn running back D.J. Williams each announced their intentions to finish their careers in Tallahassee. The two additions give FSU a grand total of six transfers so far this offseason, including four from the SEC.

As a sophomore last season, Williams finished with 199 yards rushing and three touchdowns on 38 carries. Williams also averaged a respectable 5.2 yards per carry.

A 6-foot-2, 275-pound defensive tackle, Thomas comes to FSU as a graduate transfer. This past season, Thomas tallied a career-high three sacks for the Gamecocks to go with 32 total tackles. For Thomas’ career, he has 8.5 sacks.

The two additions are expected to help an FSU team that finished just 3-6 this past season. They join former UCF quarterback McKenzie Milton, Kansas wide receiver Andrew Parchment, Arkansas defensive back Jarques McClellion and linebacker Jermaine Johnson as transfers to commit to the Seminoles.
