After six home games to open the season, Florida State men’s basketball’s first road trip of the season was not a pleasant one.

No. 18 FSU fell to 1-1 in ACC play on Tuesday night with a 77-67 loss to Clemson. The Seminoles led by as many as nine in the first half, but the Tigers held a 14-rebound edge and shot 33 free throws to just nine for FSU.

The contest was tied at 54 with less than eight minutes to play, but Clemson went on a 9-1 run to seize control of the contest. Florida State has now split its first two ACC games for a fourth straight season.

Clyde Trapp led Clemson with a game-high 15 points. Nick Honor and Al-Amir Dawes tallied 13 and 11 points, respectively, in the win.

Freshman Scottie Barnes led FSU with 14 points and five assists. M.J. Walker chipped in with 11 points in the loss.

Unfortunately for FSU, the contest could be its last for a while. The Seminoles were set to host Duke on Saturday night, but a positive COVID-19 test within the Florida State program forced the game to be postponed. FSU’s next scheduled contest is for Wednesday at Syracuse.
