Happy hump day, Florida State fans.

Before your day gets started, check out our daily rundown.

Lead Story

Florida State fans will unfortunately have to wait a little longer for basketball season to start.

One day after the FSU women announced its opener with Florida A&M was canceled, the men’s program announced Friday’s opener against Gardner-Webb was postponed. Gardner-Webb was set to open its season on Wednesday against Duke, but positive COVID-19 tests postponed that one as well.

Instead, the Seminoles will hope to begin their season on Dec. 2 against North Florida. FSU lost to Pittsburgh in last season’s opener. It hasn’t lost consecutive season openers since dropping three straight from the 1999-00 season to the 2001-02 season.

Between the Lines

There were no FSU athletic events scheduled for Tuesday.

On the Agenda

With the cancellation of FSU women’s basketball’s opener at Florida A&M, there are no FSU athletic events scheduled for Wednesday.

Florida State divers Samantha Vear and Joshua Davidson were named the ACC Divers of the Week.
