Lead Story

A top-15 college basketball team may be on the verge of getting better, according to one report.

Per CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein, Florida State forward Phil Cofer has returned to practice and is expected to be available for Saturday’s contest against Connecticut. The Seminoles will take on the Huskies in Newark as part of the Never Forget Tribute Classic.

Classified as a senior last season, Cofer led the Seminoles averaging 12.8 points per game — a career-high. For only playing in 11 games as a sophomore during the 2015-16 season, Cofer was granted a fifth year of eligibility by the NCAA. Prior to the season, Cofer suffered a foot injury and could make his season debut on Saturday.
