The Daily Nole – Sept. 27, 2018: FSU Soccer Prepares for Match Against Notre Dame

Perrone Ford/FSU Sports Information

It’s Thursday, Florida State fans. As your day and week carry on, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. The news and notes section of this post will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

Florida State soccer hopes to bounce back on Thursday with a win over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The Seminoles are 8-2-1 overall on the season but just 1-2-0 in the ACC, thanks to a stunning loss against Boston College last Sunday. FSU maintained a top-10 national ranking and needs a victory over the Irish to stay there.

Notre Dame is 5-5-0 in 2018 but recently broke a 4-game losing streak with a win over Wake Forest. It’s the first home game for the Irish since Sept. 2.

This game was originally scheduled for Sept. 28, but Hurricane Florence pushed it up in order to allow Notre Dame and NC State to make up their match later in the season.

Between the Lines

There were no FSU athletic events scheduled for Wednesday.

On the Agenda

No. 10 Florida State soccer (8-2-1, 1-2-0 ACC) plays at Notre Dame (5-5-0, 1-1-0 ACC) on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. Thursday’s match will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra.
