FSU Ranked No. 19 in Preseason AP Poll

For the 10th year in a row, Florida State will begin the year ranked in the preseason Associated Press Poll.

Released Monday, the Seminoles will begin the year ranked No. 19. That’s the lowest preseason ranking for FSU since 2010 when it became the year ranked 20th.

Topping the preseason poll was Alabama. The defending national champion Crimson Tide were followed by Clemson, Georgia, Wisconsin and Ohio State

The Seminoles and Tigers were among four ACC teams ranked in the preseason poll. Joining those two were Miami at No. 8 and Virginia Tech at 20th.

For 2018, FSU will face five opponents ranked in the poll. Outside of the ACC squads, Notre Dame will begin the year ranked 12th. The Seminoles will visit the Fighting Irish in November.

The Seminoles were previously ranked 19th in the Amway Coaches Poll. They open the season on Sept. 3 against the the 20th-ranked Hokies.
