One of the veteran players along Florida State’s offensive line announced on Monday that he would be leaving the program.

Corey Martinez, a redshirt senior, took to Twitter to announce that he would be quitting football to pursue a career as a construction project manager. Martinez has already graduated from FSU.

Martinez has played center and guard over his FSU career, but got some work this offseason as a tackle. Martinez was a team captain for the spring game back in April.

Martinez made three starts at center as a redshirt freshman during the 2015 season before Alec Eberle ultimately won the position. Martinez battled injuries in 2016 and played in just five total games over the last two seasons.

Martinez joins David Robbins, Brock Ruble, Andrew Boselli and Josh Ball among offensive linemen to have unexpectedly left the program since the end of last season. Martinez said he would apply for his General Contractors license soon.
