The Daily Nole — July 20, 2018: Akers, Burns, Taggart Represent FSU at ACC Kickoff

It’s Friday, Florida State fans. As the weekend nears, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. We’ll update the news and notes section of this post throughout the day.

Lead Story

The first ACC Kickoff has come and passed for Florida State under new head coach Willie Taggart. Taggart was joined by sophomore running back Cam Akers and defensive end Brian Burns in Charlotte on Thursday.

Taggart talked about getting back to winning championships while Akers spoke to the new offense and the accountability that has come with the new head coach. Burns also talked about the scheme under new defensive coordinator Harlon Barnett.

The Seminoles will look to bounce back from their worst season since 2009. FSU opens the 2018 season on Labor Day against Virginia Tech.
