The Daily Nole — May 8, 2018: FSU Women’s Golf on Outside Looking In After Day 1 of NCAAs

It’s Tuesday, Florida State fans. As your day goes along, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. The news and notes section of this post will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

After one day of the NCAA Tallahassee Regional, Florida State’s women’s golf team is on the outside looking in.

After one round, the Seminoles sit in seventh place at -2. The top six teams will advance to the NCAA Championships.

The good news for FSU is that it is just one stroke out of fourth as Clemson, Tennessee and Wake Forest all sit at -3. Washington leads after one day at -15 as a team — seven strokes ahead of second-place Furman.

Individually, Amanda Doherty leads FSU at -3, which is good for seventh overall. Washington’s Wenyung Keh is the overall leader at -9. The teams continue play on Tuesday.

Between the Lines

In addition to FSU women’s golf, FSU baseball was defeated at Clemson on Monday night, 5-4.

On the Agenda

FSU women’s golf is the only scheduled athletic event for Tuesday.
