The friendly confines of Dick Howser Stadium remained friendly to Florida State on Tuesday night as the Seminoles remained perfect. Unlike on Monday night in which they rallied from five runs down, the Seminoles came out of the gates swinging en route to a 12-7 win over Kansas to complete a 2-game sweep.

FSU improved to 13-0 on the year with the victory as Clayton Kwiatkowski picked up his first win in his first start of the season. FSU opens ACC play on Friday as it begins a 3-game series with Wake Forest.

The Good: After going 10 straight games without scoring in double-digits, Florida State did it in each of the last two days against Kansas. The Seminoles pounded out a season-high 12 runs on 11 hits. Cal Raleigh hit his first home run of the season in the win while Jared Herron hit the first homer of his career.

The Bad: Combining for 19 runs is a testament to the offense, but the Seminoles and Jayhawks probably could have combined for a lot more at Dick Howser Stadium on Tuesday night. The teams combined to leave 22 men on base. FSU was responsible for leaving 12 while Kansas left 10. The biggest missed opportunity for Kansas may have came in the eighth as it left the bags loaded in a 5-run game.

The Ugly: Defense was hardly a thing of beauty on Tuesday night as the teams combined to commit seven errors. Five of those miscues came from Kansas while two were by FSU. The errors led to six combined unearned runs.

Studs of the Game: Jared Herron’s 3-run blast in the sixth inning capped the scoring for FSU while catcher Cal Raleigh had another monster night, going 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, three RBIs and a pair of runs scored. Jaxx Groshans, Owen Taylor and Devin Foyle all homered for the Jayhawks and combined for all five Kansas RBIs.

Duds of the Game: Jonah Ulane had a tough night for Kansas on the mound, giving up the 3-run blast to Herron in his only inning of work. At the plate, Tanner Gragg and Tom Lichty were a combined 0-for-6 with five strikeouts for the Jayhawks. Cooper Swanson, who was 0-for-3 with two strikeouts, was the only FSU starter not to reach base.
