According to reports from Tomahawk Nation, the Florida State football roster is four players smaller.

The first came regarding quarterback J.J. Cosentino, who will not be returning for his redshirt senior season. Once a 4-star prospect from Pennsylvania, the 6-foot-5, 245-pound quarterback never developed as many had hoped.

Cosentino’s only meaningful action came against Houston in the Peach Bowl to end the 2015 season in place of an injured Sean Maguire. Cosentino was ineffective in multiple series, which forced the Seminoles to revert to the injured Maguire.

Cosentino has graduated and will be eligible to play elsewhere immediately. He finishes his FSU career 15-for-30 passing for 104 yards and two touchdowns.

The remaining scholarship quarterbacks on the roster are redshirt junior-to-be Deondre Francois along with James Blackman and Bailey Hockman. Those three have 25 combined starts between them, although Hockman was redshirted this past season.

Also leaving the program, according to Tomahawk Nation, are offensive linemen Ethan Frith and David Robbins and defensive tackle Darvin Taylor. The attrition of Robbins and Taylor were medical disqualifications, per the report.

Robbins, who was set to be a redshirt junior in 2018, appeared in just three career games at FSU. Frith played in 13 career games and was set to become a senior. Taylor, who was also set to be a redshirt junior, never played a down for the Seminoles.
