Florida State will have to replace a 3-year starter at tight end in 2018.

On Wednesday, redshirt junior Ryan Izzo announced that he would forego his final season to enter the 2018 NFL Draft. Izzo caught a career-high six passes for 59 yards in FSU’s 42-13 Independence Bowl victory over Southern Mississippi.

For the season, Izzo finished with 20 catches for 317 yards and three touchdowns — all career-highs. His 15.9 yards per catch average was tops among FSU receivers with at least 10 grabs.

Izzo joins safety Derwin James and defensive end Josh Sweat as FSU players to declare early for the draft. With Mavin Saunders transferring to Kansas, FSU will have three returning scholarship tight ends in Tre’ McKitty, Naseir Upshur and Alexander Marshall.
