TALLAHASSEE — Another Oregon staffer is coming to Tallahassee. Renowned recruiter David Kelly, who was on Willie Taggart’s staff both at South Florida and at Oregon, will be joining the new Florida State head coach’s staff, according to a report by FootballScoop.com.

The news comes as little surprise, as Kelly was seen on the sideline during FSU’s Independence Bowl victory over Southern Miss.

Kelly was the assistant athletic director for football recruiting operations while at Oregon. He came to Eugene from South Florida alongside Taggart, where he served as the director of player personnel. His recruiting accomplishments include being named one of the top 25 college football recruiters in the nation by ESPN in 2010 and by Rivals in 2009.

Kelly is a highly respected recruiter at both the college and professional level, and he has successfully coached and recruited athletes in the SEC, ACC, (then) PAC-10 and Conference USA.

It is unclear what position Kelly will hold in Taggart’s staff, but one thing remains clear: Kelly’s arrival should give a much-needed boost to the Seminoles’ recruiting efforts.
