The Daily Nole — Sept. 29, 2017: Tate, Thomas Expected to Play vs. Wake

It’s Friday, Florida State fans, which means we’re just one day away from football. Keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics as we update the news and notes section throughout the day.

Lead Story

Florida State is expected to have key pieces in the lineup as it looks for its first win against Wake Forest on Saturday, according to a report.

Auden Tate, a junior wide receiver, and redshirt senior linebacker Matthew Thomas are both expected to play for the Seminoles against Wake Forest. Tate missed virtually all of the second half of Saturday’s 27-21 loss to N.C. State with a shoulder injury while Thomas hurt his back.

Tate is FSU’s leading receiver this year with 179 yards and has scored both of the team’s touchdowns this season. Thomas led FSU with 10 total tackles in the season-opener against Alabama.

Between the Lines

FSU women’s tennis participated in the $25,000 ITF on Thursday.

On the Agenda

FSU women’s tennis will resume the $25,000 ITF on Friday and the Bedford Cup in Tampa. FSU cross country will participate in the Notre Dame/Joe Piane Invitational. FSU volleyball will be at Louisville while FSU soccer hosts N.C. State. Both of those matches begin at 7 p.m. EST and air on ACC Network Extra.
