Happy hump day, Florida State fans. As the weekend nears, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. The news and notes section of this post will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

With an ACC Championship appearance seeming less likely following a 27-21 loss to N.C. State, Florida State is considering rescheduling its home contest with Louisiana-Monroe for the first week in December, according to a report from ESPN.

The Seminoles and Warhawks were originally scheduled to play in FSU’s home opener on Sept. 9, but the game was canceled because of Hurricane Irma. One of the reasons rescheduling the game is being considered is to potentially give FSU the chance to become bowl-eligible.

The only meeting between FSU and Louisiana-Monroe took place in the 2011 opener, with the Seminoles winning, 34-0. If rescheduled, the contest would serve as the 11th game in 11 weeks for FSU.
