It’s Thursday, Florida State fans. As the weekend approaches and the devastation from Hurricane Irma continues to diminish, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. The news and notes section of this post will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

Florida State’s soccer and volleyball teams are attempting to make the lost contests due to Hurricane Irma less of a loss.

The only lost contest for FSU soccer was a Sept. 8 contest at rival Florida. That contest has now been rescheduled for Oct. 12 in Gainesville.

FSU volleyball lost matches with Arizona, Tennessee and Florida. To partially compensate for the loss, the Seminoles will host Auburn on Saturday.

Between the Lines

In a contest originally scheduled for Tuesday in Tallahassee, FSU soccer won at Troy on Wednesday by a 4-1 score. Deyna Castellanos accounted for two goals and one assist.

On the Agenda

There are no FSU athletic events scheduled for Thursday.
