Florida State won’t be plunging from the top 10 in the polls following Saturday’s 24-7 loss to No. 1 Alabama.

Following the loss, FSU fell six sports to No. 9 in the Amway Coaches Poll. In the AP Poll, the Seminoles fell from No. 3 down to 10th.

Alabama remained atop the polls, following by Ohio State, Clemson and Penn State. Oklahoma was No. 5 in the AP Poll while USC rounded out the top 5 in the Coaches.

In the AP Poll, USC, Washington, Michigan and Wisconsin all sit above the 10th-ranked Seminoles. Coming in at No. 6 in the Coaches Poll was Oklahoma and then Washington. FSU was wedged between No. 8 Michigan and 10th-ranked Oklahoma State.

Five ACC teams remain ranked in the polls. Aside from FSU and Clemson, Miami, Louisville and Virginia Tech rank No. 16 through 18, respectively in both polls.

FSU is slated to be back in action on Saturday night for its home opener. The Seminoles are set to host Louisiana-Monroe.

I think falling to 10th was a kick in the teeth. I was expecting in the 7-8 range. Not sure scheduling these types of games to open the season is really worth it. We lost our Starting QB and are all but out of the conversation right now. While a team like Clemson scheduled a bye week basically and moved up in the conversation.
