Florida State may not have been able to leave Atlanta with a victory against Alabama on Saturday, but a pair of Seminoles were honored by the ACC for their efforts on Tuesday.

Junior Josh Sweat was named the ACC Defensive Lineman of the Week after recording five tackles and a sack in Saturday’s 24-7 loss to the Crimson Tide. Sweat finished with seven sacks last season and big things were expected heading into 2017.

After missing all but two games last season, redshirt sophomore safety Derwin James was named the ACC’s Defensive Back of the Week. James recorded six tackles and 0.5 sacks in Saturday’s contest and made a number of key plays on third down.

Sweat and James will hope to have another productive week as FSU plays at home for the first time on Saturday against Louisiana-Monroe. To view the full list of ACC Players of the Week, click here.
