Happy Monday, Florida State fans. For those of you returning to work, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. The news and notes section of this post will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

Former Florida State All-American kicker Roberto Aguayo’s unemployment stint lasted just a little more than 24 hours.

After being released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Saturday, the former Lou Groza Award winner and second round pick was swooped up by the Chicago Bears on Sunday. In his rookie season in the NFL, Aguayo was just 22-for-31 on field goal attempts. Those struggles came to a head on Friday night as the second-year man missed both a field goal and an extra point in a preseason loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.

Aguayo will join some familiar faces in Chicago. Currently on the roster for the Bears are former FSU teammates Christian Jones, Eddie Goldman and Freddie Stevenson. His kicking competition will be Connor Barth.
