The unveiling of preseason watch lists concluded on Friday with the release of the Walter Camp Award watch list. Two Florida State players were a part of it.

Redshirt sophomore safety Derwin James made the watch list despite playing in just two games last season. James was among FSU’s leaders in virtually every major defensive category in 2015 and was previously named to the Maxwell, Bednarik, Thorpe and Nagurski watch lists.

FSU redshirt sophomore quarterback Deondre Francois was the only offensive player on the list for the Seminoles after accounting for more than 3,500 total yards and 25 total touchdowns a season ago. Francois was previously named to the Maxwell and Davey O’Brien Award watch lists.

The Walter Camp Award is annually given to the nation’s top player by the Water Camp Foundation and has been since 1967. Prior winners from FSU include Charlie Ward in 1993 and Jameis Winston in 2013.
