John Huggins hopes the second time is the charm in his effort to commit to Florida State.

The 3-star safety from Dayton Beach announced his commitment on Friday, according to Warchant. Huggins originally committed to FSU in June, but the school did not consider him a commit at the time, according to reports.

Huggins becomes the second player to commit to FSU in as many days, joining defensive end Chaz Neal. Huggins is currently listed as the No. 1,144 national player and the No. 89 safety in addition to the 174th best player from the state of Florida, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Huggins becomes the 15th member of the Seminoles’ 2018 class, but the first safety. He’s also the lowest ranked recruit currently committed.

FSU entered the day with the ninth best overall class for 2018, according to the Composite. The addition of Huggins is not enough to move the needle further.
