Happy hump day, Florida State fans. For those of you trying to stay informed on FSU athletics, the news and notes section of this post will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

It will be No. 1 vs. No. 2 on Wednesday night as Florida State softball hosts top-ranked Florida.

The Seminoles have lost 16 of 17 against rival Florida, including two of the last three on walk-offs. The Gators beat FSU 1-0 on a walk-off single last month in the first meeting between the teams in Gainesville.

The good news for Florida State is that it has yet to lose at home this season. The Seminoles are powered by a 1-2 punch on the mound that includes Jessica Burroughs and Meghan King. At the plate, Jessica Warren is the player to watch as her .454 batting average, 19 home runs and 62 RBIs are all team-highs.

Kayli Kvistad, the hero from the first meeting, leads Florida with a .398 batting average and 46 RBIs to go with seven homers. On the mound, Kelly Barnhill is one of the nation’s best with a 21-0 record and ungodly 0.16 ERA.

Wednesday’s contest begins at 7 p.m. EST and will air on ACC Network Extra.

Between the Lines

On the Agenda
