The winningest senior class in Florida State women’s basketball history got a little more “winninger” on Thursday night as the Seminoles celebrated Senior Night with a 79-48 rout of Pittsburgh.
Five players, including three seniors, scored in double-figures for FSU in the win. Chatrice White and Brittany Brown each scored a team-high 13 points. Leticia Romero and Imani Wright both chipped in with 12 points and Ivey Slaughter added 10. Brenna Wise scored a game-high 23 points to lead the Panthers.
The Seminoles dominated every aspect of Thursday’s game, holding the Panthers to just 37 percent shooting for the evening and dominating the rebounding battle, 37-25. FSU wraps up the regular season on Sunday at Notre Dame.
Between the Lines
In addition of basketball, the FSU track and field teams competed in the ACC Championships. The FSU softball team bounced back from a 2-0 defeat against Texas A&M to beat Stanford 8-2 on Thursday to open the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic.
On the Agenda
Florida State’s swimming and diving teams will be in Gainesville on Friday for the UF Invite. Track and field will continue to participate in the ACC Championships. The FSU baseball team begins a 3-game series with Samford at 4 p.m. EST on ACC Network Extra. The men’s tennis team will host Pepperdine at 5:30 p.m. EST on ACC Network Extra. FSU softball continues the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic at 11:30 p.m. EST against San Diego State.
