The Daily Nole — July 26, 2017: Five FSU Tennis Players Recognized for Academics

Lead Story

Five Florida State tennis players were recognized on Tuesday for their work not on the tennis court, but in the classroom.

Three women and two men’s players were named Scholar-Athletes by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. On the women’s side, Daniela Schippers, Gabriella Castaneda and Julia Mikulski earned the recognition. On the men’s side, it was Jake Albo and Alex Knaff receiving the distinction.

To be recognized, according to a release, one must letter in his or her sport, be at his or her current school for at least two semesters and maintain a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

According to reports, the retractable roof at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta won’t be in use for the Chick-fil-A kickoff games.
