The Daily Nole — May 19, 2017: ACC Men’s Hoops Tournament to Remain in Brooklyn

It’s Friday, Florida State fans. For those of you trying to make it to the weekend, keep it here for the latest in FSU athletics. The news and notes section will be updated throughout the day.

Lead Story

It has been known that the ACC Football Championship would return to Charlotte in 2017, but the championship locations for all other sports in the conference was released on Thursday.

The ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament will be held at the Barclay’s Center for the second straight year from March 6-10. After having to move this year’s ACC Baseball Tournament to Louisville, next year’s event which lasts from May 22-27, will once again be held in Durham.

Other notable ACC Tournaments include the women’s basketball tournament, which remains in Greensboro from Feb. 28 to March 4. The ACC Softball Championship will be on the campus of Georgia Tech in Atlanta from May 9-12.

Between the Lines

FSU baseball took the the first game of a 3-game series from Louisville on Thursday, 12-9.

On the Agenda

FSU women’s golf will be in Illinois for the NCAA Championships, which begin on Friday. FSU baseball continues its series at Louisville at 6 p.m. EST in a contest that airs on ACC Network Extra. FSU softball opens the Tallahassee Regional against Princeton at 7 p.m. EST on ESPNU.

News and Notes

FSU beach volleyball’s Leigh Andrew and Brooke Kuhlman were named AVCA All-Americans on Thursday.

FSU softball opened the NCAA Tournament on Friday night with a 3-0 win over Princeton.

FSU baseball became the first team to take a series from Louisville all season with an 8-2 win on Friday night.
