Lead Story
Florida State’s 2018-19 basketball season came to an end on Thursday night with a 72-58 loss to No. 1 seed Gonzaga in the Sweet 16. As disappointing as the loss was, the season overall for FSU was a record-breaking one.
Over the course of the campaign, the Seminoles set school records for total wins (29), ACC wins (13) and consecutive ACC wins (8). The class of 4-year seniors, which included forward Phil Cofer, center Christ Koumadje and slasher Terance Mann won more games than any other class in program history.
Over the course of this season, FSU defeated six teams who won or shared either the regular season or conference tournament title. The Seminoles defeated 12 teams that reached the NCAA Tournament.
In addition to those three aforementioned seniors, FSU will also have to replace guards David Nichols and P.J. Savoy. There is speculation that Mfiondu Kabengele could try his hand at the NBA. FSU will open the 2019-20 season at Pittsburgh on Nov. 6.
Between the Lines
Aside from the Sweet 16, FSU men’s swimming and diving continued the NCAA Championships on Thursday. FSU track and field took part in the Florida Relays.
On the Agenda
FSU men’s swimming and diving will continue the NCAA Championships on Friday. FSU track and field will take part in the Florida Relays, Raleigh Relays and Stanford Invitational. FSU beach volleyball will be in South Florida to take on Grand Canyon and Tulane. FSU women’s tennis hosts Wake Forest while the men visit NC State. FSU softball will be at Virginia at 5 p.m. EST while FSU baseball hosts Boston College at 6 p.m. EST. Both contests airs on ACC Network Extra.

Gonzaga will face Texas Tech in the Elite Eight.
Drew Parrish will start for FSU on Friday night against Boston College.
FSU baseball fell to Boston College on Friday night, 10-7.
