Florida State baseball hopes to earn a second trip to the College World Series in three years and a fourth ACC title in five years this season, but the regular season will ultimately come first. The Seminoles now know what that slate will look like.
FSU unveiled its 2019 schedule on Thursday, which begins with a 4-game set against Maine, starting on Feb. 15, at Dick Howser Stadium. Other non-conference weekend opponents for 2019 include Youngstown State, Mercer and Richmond — all at home. The Seminoles will celebrate Senior Day against the Spiders during a 3-game set from May 10-12.
Midweek non-conference foes include South Florida, North Florida, Florida, Florida International, UCF, Stetson and Jacksonville. FSU will face Florida, Jacksonville and Stetson each three times throughout the year. Florida State visits the Gators on March 12 and hosts them on April 9 with a contest in Jacksonville in between on March 26.
FSU opens ACC play at home against Virginia Tech on March 8. The regular season concludes at Louisville with a 3-game set from May 16-18.
The Seminoles do not have to leave the state of Florida until March 15 for an away series at NC State. In terms of ACC play, Florida State does get a couple of its tougher opponents in Tallahassee. Both Clemson and Wake Forest will travel in for those match-ups, as well as Boston College and Pittsburgh. But arguably the two toughest ACC series against Louisville and Virginia are away from home.
FSU finished 43-19 last season, but lasted just two games in the Tallahassee Regional. NCAA Regionals begin May 31 and the College World Series in Omaha starts June 15. Season tickets for FSU go on sale at the end of November.
