As Expected, FSU Plummets in Polls

In a development far less shocking than Saturday’s 63-20 defeat at Louisville, Florida State took a noticeable plummet in the traditional polls that were released Sunday.

FSU entered the week, ranked second in both of the traditional polls, but following the largest margin of defeat under head coach Jimbo Fisher, the Seminoles fell 12 spots to No. 14 in the Amway Coaches Poll.

Topping the poll was again reigning national champion Alabama, followed by Ohio State, Clemson, Louisville and Michigan.

In the AP Poll, Florida State took a 11-spot drop to No. 13. Alabama also topped that poll and was followed by Ohio State third-ranked Louisville, Clemson and Michigan.

Florida State will look to get back on the right track Saturday as the Seminoles head to Tampa to take on South Florida. South Florida is 3-0 and received seven votes in the AP Poll. The contest will kick off at noon EST and air on ABC.
