Lead Story

It was not a thing of beauty, but Florida State basketball avoided its second loss in four days on Wednesday night. In a ugly contest, the Seminoles held off Tulane at the Donald L. Tucker Center, 59-54.

The Green Wave jumped to a 17-10 lead, but the Seminoles finished the first half strong to take a 37-32 lead into the locker room and never trailed again. FSU turned the ball over 15 times and shot just 9-for-16 from the foul line, but held Tulane to just 29% shooting to secure the victory.

Transfers Caleb Mills and Cam’Ron Fletcher were the only two FSU players to score in double figures, finishing with 13 and 11 points, respectively. Malik Osborne was one point shy of a double-double, tallying nine points and a game-high 10 rebounds. Jalen Cook scored a game-high 21 points while Jaylen Forbes added 15 for Tulane in the loss.
