Lead Story

Three Florida State players were selected during Thursday night’s NBA Draft, including Scottie Barnes, who is now in elite company.

With the fourth overall pick, Barnes was selected by the Toronto Raptors. The selection ties Barnes with Dave Cowens and Patrick Williams for the highest player ever chosen from FSU. The ACC Freshman of the Year, Barnes averaged 10.3 points, four rebounds and better than four assists in his only season at FSU.

Center Balsa Koprivica and forward RaiQuan Gray went two picks apart in the second round at No. 57 and No. 59, respectively. Koprivica was selected by the Charlotte Hornets, but the pick had been traded to the Detroit Pistons. Gray was selected by the Brooklyn Nets.

Koprivica shot 60% from the field while averaging 9.1 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game last season. Gray shot 52% while averaging just shy of 12 points and 6.4 rebounds per contest.
