Florida State women’s golf had the best second and third round of any team at the ACC Championships in Greensboro, but a hot start by Wake Forest was too much to overcome.

The Demon Deacons claimed the ACC crown, finishing at -14. FSU finished second at -6, although the Seminoles were as close as four strokes during Saturday’s third and final round.

Behind FSU and Wake were Duke, Virginia and Louisville. The Blue Devils finished at +4 while the Cavaliers were +6 and the Cardinals +26.

Wake Forest also had the top two individual finishers with Emilia Migliaccio and Siyun Liu at -11 and -9, respectively. Frida Kinhult, a freshman, was the top finisher for the Seminoles at even par — good for a tie for fifth.

FSU’s Puk Lyng Thomsen and Beatrice Wallin also finished in the top 10 at +1 and +2, respectively. FSU will begin the NCAA Regionals at a to be determined location on May 6.
