Seminoles Throttle Virginia, 14-2

Florida State scored multiple runs in four different innings on Thursday night and dominated from the start to take the first game of a 3-game series against Virginia in Charlottesville and win a fourth straight overall, 14-2.

J.C. Flowers’ ninth home run of the year — a 2-run blast — highlighted a 3-run first inning for the Seminoles (23-13). FSU would add two runs in the second, three in the fourth, five in the seventh and one in the eighth to cruise to victory.

Freshman infielder Tanner Morris scored both runs for Virginia (22-17). Drew Parrish allowed just an unearned run on five hits with two walks while striking out six in six innings of work to earn the win for FSU.
