It’s no surprise, but for the third straight season and the seventh time in 11 years, Florida State is dancing.

The Seminoles were awarded a No. 4 seed in the 2019 NCAA Tournament on Sunday. They’ll open the tournament on Thursday against Vermont in Hartford as part of the West Region.

Fresh off an Elite Eight run a season ago, FSU finished with a school-record 13 wins in ACC play and have tied a program record with 27 wins. The Seminoles made their deep run a season ago as a No. 9 seed.

Vermont comes in with a 27-6 record. The Catamounts topped Maryland-Baltimore County on Saturday to claim the American East crown.

FSU is 7-6 in six prior NCAA Tournament appearances under head coach Leonard Hamilton. Vermont is in the NCAA Tournament for the fourth time since 2010.

The Seminoles won the only prior meeting between the schools. FSU beat Vermont in the Vermont Classic in December 1976 by a 76-67 score.
