3-Star Linebacker Kevon Glenn Commits to Florida State

Florida State added another linebacker to its 2019 recruiting class on Sunday night. 3-star linebacker Kevon Glenn out of Hampton, Georgia posted on Twitter that he would be taking his talents to Florida State.

This recruitment moved very quickly for both sides. Glenn has been on the radar of Power-5 teams for a few months, but Florida State only extended an offer on December 9th. They convinced Glenn to take a visit to Florida State over this past weekend, and they gave him the go-ahead to commit once he felt comfortable.

Glenn is the type of linebacker needed for depth. While he might never be a star player or All-American selection, Glenn is a tough middle linebacker that packs a punch in stopping the run. Florida State wants to address the lack of physicality on their roster in the 2019 class, and Glenn is a step towards fixing the issue. He will still need to work a bit on his coverage skills and his reaction time before he sees major minutes in Tallahassee.

Glenn is ranked as the No. 38 inside linebacker and No. 885 overall player in the nation. He held notable offers from Georgia Tech, Missouri, North Carolina State, and Nebraska.

His commitment keeps the Florida State class at No. 13 overall in the nation and No. 2 in the ACC. Florida State has two other linebacker commits in the class: 4-star Jaleel McRae and 4-star Kalen DeLoach. The Seminoles are also contenders for 4-star Derick Hall, who will be announcing his commit soon. Of the two already committed, DeLoach is the only one who the staff expects to contribute in their first year on campus.
