Big news is expected to break on Monday as Florida State football is expected to name a starting quarterback for next week’s opener against Virginia Tech. This is according to a report from 247Sports’ Josh Newberg.

Fall camp wrapped up on Sunday and most believe that redshirt junior Deondre Francois will emerge as the starter. Francois was the 2016 ACC Rookie of the Year, but appeared in just one game last season before suffering a season-ending patella tendon injury.

The most likely to unseat Francois is sophomore James Blackman. Blackman started 12 games in Francois’ absence last season. Also vying for the job is redshirt freshman left-hander Bailey Hockman.
