On the final day of watch lists, Florida State running back Cam Akers saw his name for the third time.

The sophomore from Mississippi was named to the Walter Camp Award watch list on Friday. The award annually goes to the nation’s top player.

Akers set the FSU freshman rushing record last season with 1,024 yards on the ground while scoring eight total touchdowns. Akers was previously named to the Maxwell and Doak Walker Award watch lists.

The Walter Camp Award is named in honor of Walter Camp, who was influential in the development of the sport, and has been given by the Walter Camp Foundation every year since 1967. Previous winners from FSU include quarterbacks Charlie Ward and Jameis Winston during their respective Heisman Trophy years of 1993 and 2013.
