Florida State redshirt junior quarterback Deondre Francois is facing misdemeanor charges for marijuana possession, according to a report from the Tallahassee Democrat.

Per the report from the Tallahassee newspaper, the redshirt junior quarterback faces possession charges of less than 20 grams and is set to appear in court. During a domestic disturbance reported in January in which Francois was found of no wrongdoing, girlfriend Diamond Lindsey asked police if the quarterback would get into “trouble trouble” for smoking marijuana.

After passing for 3,350 yards and accounting for 25 total touchdowns as a redshirt freshman in 2016, Francois was named ACC Rookie of the Year while helping lead the Seminoles to a top-10 finish and an Orange Bowl victory over Michigan. Francois missed almost all of 2017 after tearing his patella tendon in the season opener against Alabama.

Coming off an injury, Francois has been limited this spring. He is thought to be in a battle for the starting spot with sophomore James Blackman and redshirt freshman Bailey Hockman. Blackman started 12 games following the injury to Francois last season.

UPDATE: As of Friday morning, the Democrat is reporting that Francois is not required to appear in court, but has been sent to a diversion program.
