It didn’t take long to figure out how Sunday night’s contest in Raleigh was going to go.

From the middle parts of the first half on, No. 25 Florida State never really stood a chance in a 92-72 loss to North Carolina State at the PNC Center. The Wolfpack shot a remarkable 13-for-22 or 59 percent from deep and 51 percent for the game. FSU (19-9, 8-8 ACC) on the other hand did not make a 3-pointer, going 0-for-15, in its worst loss of the season.

The Wolfpack (20-9, 10-6 ACC) never trailed, building a 48-29 halftime lead and leading by as many as 27 in the second half en route to an easy victory. Allerik Freeman scored a game-high 25 points and shot 4-for-5 from deep to pace five N.C. State players in double-figures.

Torin Dorn added 19 points on 8-for-14 from the field. Sam Hunt was a perfect 4-for-4 from deep to finish with 14 points. Omer Yurtseven and Markell Johnson added 13 and 12 points, respectively.

The Seminoles showed some life in the second half as they used an 11-2 run, which was fueled by six points from Braian Angola, to cut as 24-point lead to 15. N.C. State however, answered with consecutive 3-pointers from Hunt and Freeman and FSU never seriously threatened again.

It wasn’t a night to remember for FSU, who were paced by Trent Forrest’s career-high tying 16 points. Angola finished with 14. Christ Koumadje added 12 points while Terance Mann chipped in with 10. Koumadje and Yurtseven were tied with a game-high eight rebounds.

FSU will play its final road game of the regular season on Wednesday night against Clemson. N.C. State visits Georgia Tech on Thursday night.
