No charges have been filed against Florida State quarterback Deondre Francois for an alleged domestic battery that took place Tuesday evening.

The redshirt sophomore was investigated for domestic violence for an incident that occurred about 6 p.m. EST. Francois made the call after girlfriend Diamond Lindsey, 23, began breaking property in a residence at 810 S. Lipona Rd. where both lived, according to the Tallahassee Police Department. Lindsey told police that she was nine weeks’ pregnant with Francois’ child.

Francois’ account, according to police, is that he and FSU running back Zaquandre White, 19, were at the residence when Lindsey walked in and became argumentative. Francois told police that he asked her to leave, which prompted her to break things, including a vase. Lindsey also attempted to rip a television off a wall, police said.

Francois told police that he picked the woman up “like a hug” and tried to take her outside to avoid having her break anything else, but let go once she began swinging. Francois said Lindsey threatened to call police for domestic violence and continued damaging property.

Lindsey told police that Francois, 20, was upset with her for talking to another man. Lindsey claimed Francois broke down a door and picked her up and threw her onto the ground, cutting her arm, police said. Lindsey told police that Francois knew that she was pregnant. Francois told police she cut her arm when she broke the vase.

Lindsey told police that she did not want Francois to get into “trouble trouble”, but asked that police scare him. She also questioned whether or not Francois would be in trouble because “he smoked the weed earlier”.

White told police that Lindsey came in and began breaking property. According to White’s account, she locked herself in Francois’ bedroom and tried to break a television. White told police that Lindsey continued to break things while Francois asked her to leave the home.

According to the police report, White said Lindsey threatened to call the police for domestic violence. White advised that Francois only touched Lindsey to try to prevent her from breaking things and to defend himself once she “swung at him”, police said.

Police could not determine probable cause and made no arrests. Police said Francois voluntarily left the apartment with White. The case is open, but listed as inactive.

The investigation was first reported by the Tallahassee Democrat.

After accounting for 25 total touchdowns, being named ACC Rookie of the Year and leading the Seminoles to a No. 8 national ranking in 2016, Francois appeared in just one game in 2017. Francois passed for 210 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions in a 24-7 loss to Alabama before tearing his patella tendon in the fourth quarter of that contest.

The rehabbing Francois is expected to battle James Blackman, who started 12 games in his absence, for the starting spot in 2018. Click here to view the complete report.
