A career-night from Terance Mann and an incredibly efficient offensive effort was the difference for Florida State on Wednesday in an 88-77 victory over Georgia Tech at the Donald L. Tucker Center.

Mann finished with a career-high 30 points on 10-for-13 shooting to go with team-highs of five rebounds and five assists. As a team, the Seminoles (15-5, 4-4 ACC) shot 59 percent from the field. Georgia Tech shot 41 percent, but held the rebounding edge, 34-26.

The contest went back and forth for most of the first half before a 4-point play from FSU’s Braian Angola and a run-out jam from Mann ignited a 22-9 run to end the half. Mann gave the Seminoles a 50-36 lead at the break on a fade-away jumper that bounced in just before the first half horn sounded.

The Yellow Jackets (10-10, 3-4 ACC) opened the second half on a 9-2 run to cut the deficit to seven. They would draw to within seven on three other occasions in the final frame, but could get no closer.

Freshman guard Jose Alvarado tied a career-high with 23 points to lead Georgia Tech while Josh Okogie had another monster game against the Seminoles to lead in most other statistical categories. In addition to his 16 points, Okogie grabbed a game-high 16 rebounds, dished out five assists and came away with one block. Abdoulaye Gueye and Ben Lammers chipped in with 14 and 13 points, respectively, on a combined 9-for-12 shooting in the loss.

To compliment Mann’s big night, the Seminoles got 19 points from Angola on 5-for-10 shooting. Phil Cofer added 12 points on 5-for-8 shooting with most of his damage coming early.

With the victory, FSU has now won consecutive ACC games for the first time this season and will remain home to host Miami on Saturday. The Yellow Jackets will head back to Atlanta where they’ll face Clemson on Sunday evening.
