For the first time in six years, Florida State is off to a 5-0 start on the hardwood. The Seminoles were simply too much on Friday night at the Donald L. Tucker Center in a 113-78 victory over The Citadel.

Much like the contest two days prior against Kennesaw State, FSU (5-0) raced to a big lead early and never looked back. The Seminoles led 18-2 on Friday night and from there, the contest never got into single-digits.

Six FSU players scored in double figures on Friday night, led by Terance Mann and Braian Angola, who each finished with 21 points. That was a career-high for Angola, who shot 7-for-11 from the field with each attempt coming from deep. Mann also led all players with eight assists.

Mfiondu Kabengele finished with 16 points and a game-high 12 rebounds in the win. Phil Cofer, P.J. Savoy and Trent Forrest finished with 15, 14 and 10 points, respectively for FSU.

Florida State led 52-35 at the break and used a 23-5 run midway through the second half to blow the game wide open. The Seminoles broke the century mark for the first time this season on a night where they shot 53 percent from the field. It was the biggest scoring night for FSU since putting up 118 against Nicholls in Tallahassee on Dec. 8 of last year.

The Seminoles held The Citadel (3-3) to just 33 percent shooting from the field and forced 17 turnovers. FSU also held a decided advantage on the glass with 53 rebounds to the Bulldogs’ 39.

Junior Matt Frierson scored 18 points to pace The Citadel. Tariq Simmons added 17 points while leading scorer Preston Parks finished with just nine on 3-for-12 shooting.

After a mini 2-game homestand, FSU will play its first true road game of the season on Tuesday as it travels to Piscataway to face Rutgers in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. The Citadel won’t play again until hosting Marist next Friday.
