Florida State drubbed the Delaware State Hornets 77-6 on Saturday afternoon for its fourth win of the season. It was complete domination in every facet of the game, which meant plenty of players were able to see the field and make an impact. Luckily for our readers, we watched every second of it.

To hand out game balls this week is The Daily Nole staff of editor Mike Ferguson, lead writer Clint Eiland, staff writer Josh Mixon and recruiting analyst Jay Brading:

Offense

Clint: Justin Motlow, WR
Redshirt junior wide receiver Justin Motlow made headlines a few years ago for being the first member of the Seminole Tribe to play football for Florida State. On Saturday, he did it again by becoming the first Seminole to score a touchdown for the team. It was a great catch and an amazing moment for the former scout team member. The Daily Nole caught up with him after the game.

Mike, Josh, Jay: Ryan Green, RB
Redshirt senior running back Ryan Green could’ve transferred elsewhere and gotten immediate playing time. Instead, he stayed with Florida State and finished his career in Tallahassee. Saturday was the best game of his career, as he went for 96 yards and two touchdowns on just seven carries.

Defense

Clint, Mike: Derwin James, S
In perhaps the one time of the game where Florida State looked somewhat vulnerable, the Seminoles were up 14-6 and had just punted. Redshirt sophomore defensive back Derwin James made sure that the Hornets’ hopes were crushed early. He intercepted the ball and returned it 41 yards for a touchdown. He racked up three tackles and half a sack as well, in addition to smothering wide receivers lined up against him all day.

Josh, Jay: Joshua Kaindoh, DE
Delaware State had no answer for freshman defensive end Josh Kaindoh when he entered the game. Even though he didn’t start, Kaindoh led the team with six tackles and had four sacks. On one drive, he had sacks on consecutive plays. Kaindoh was a force and FSU fans should be excited about his future.

Special Teams

Unanimous Game Ball: D.J. Matthews, WR
It is now beyond clear that freshman wide receiver D.J. Matthews is the best option at punt returner. He had five returns Saturday that went for a total of 138 yards, including two that went for more than 40 yards. Matthews was explosive and may have locked up that job for the foreseeable future.
