Staff Predictions for FSU-Delaware State

Saturday should be a relaxing day for most Florida State fans. There is virtually zero chance of the Seminoles losing, the weather will be fantastic, and college football will be in full swing.

There’s not much else any red-blooded American could ask for. While you’re watching Florida State overwhelm Delaware State, make sure to finish up any Thanksgiving prep possible, because next week is when it gets hectic.

To give this week’s predictions for Saturday’s contest between the Seminoles and Hornets are lead writer Clint Eiland, editor Mike Ferguson, staff writer Josh Mixon, site manager Edwin Collins and recruiting analyst Jay Brading:

Clint: The Seminoles are going to embarrass the Hornets. The few offensive points scored by Delaware state will likely be near the end of the game when the third-stringers are in. FSU will shut down the DSU offense and slowly but surely make an insurmountable lead. 49-3, Seminoles. Cam Akers gets 175 yards rushing and three touchdowns. James Blackman passes for 250 yards and two touchdowns.

Mike: No drama, no late game-changing turnovers, no finding a way to lose. None of that will happen this week for Florida State. With that said, the Seminoles do need to play well to build confidence for the home stretch. It’ll be a happy homecoming and a happy Senior Day as well as a career-day for at least a couple youngsters. FSU 52, Delaware State 3.

Josh: Florida State might not be the best, but, and I mean this with all due respect, Delaware State is really, really bad. I mean, seriously, this might actually be the worst team a Jimbo Fisher-coached FSU team has ever played. Cam Akers goes over 100 yards, James Blackman finds his rhythm, and the J.J. Cosentino Heisman campaign gets off to a high-flying start in the second half. FSU wins 62-10 over Delaware State.

Edwin: FSU 28, Delaware State 7. FSU will just have to much talent for Delaware State. Delaware State will score some time in the fourth quarter against FSU’s backups. This will be a good motivational game for the Seminoles going into rivalry week.

Jay: Florida State runs the ball a lot as both Cam Akers and Jacques Patrick have nice days. FSU wins, 38-10.
